**Accounts Assistant** is a finance and accounting role focused on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting activities of an organization. The role involves recording receipts and payments, maintaining books of accounts, preparing vouchers, ledgers and trial balances, managing financial documents, and preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS). An Accounts Assistant also supports tax-related activities such as preparation of documents for Income Tax Returns (ITR), TDS and GST compliance, while ensuring that financial records are properly verified, updated and maintained.
The role also covers important functions such as payroll preparation, maintaining payroll records, and assisting with ESIC and EPFO applications and filings. Accounts Assistants are expected to understand accounting principles, transaction processing, invoices, taxation, financial statements and organizational accounting procedures. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, integrity and the ability to manage multiple tasks, along with practical computer skills and working knowledge of tools such as MS Excel and MS Word.
